LAHORE:A key meeting, chaired by Secretary Housing Punjab Noor Ul Amin Mengal, reviewed progress on ongoing schemes under the CM Clean Drinking Water Programme and took important decisions.
The meeting directed the establishment of a modern digital dashboard for timely completion and effective monitoring of projects. The secretary instructed that the system should incorporate advanced AI features, ensure real-time data collection and enable live monitoring.
It was decided to establish a modern complex of the Punjab Saaf Pani Authority in the provincial capital, while tehsil-level field teams would be formed to strengthen monitoring.The meeting was held at the headquarters of the Punjab Saaf Pani Authority and was attended by PSPA Chairman Zahid Akram. On the occasion, the authority’s CEO gave a briefing on the programme.
The briefing highlighted that, in the first phase, Rahimyar Khan, Rajanpur, Rawalpindi, Chakwal, Jhelum, Attock, Talagang, Murree, Bahawalpur and Bahawalnagar had been included, where installation of filtration plants would be completed soon. It was informed that bottling plants would be set up in Dera Ghazi Khan, Rahimyar Khan, Bahawalpur and Khushab to provide clean drinking water to citizens. The secretary said that, on the CM’s directives, the monitoring process was being strengthened and all projects would be completed within stipulated deadlines. He warned of strict action, including removal from service, against officers showing poor performance.
