LAHORE:The FIA Lahore Zone has announced a major success as an accused involved in human smuggling and visa fraud has been convicted in four separate cases.
According to an FIA official, the Anti-Human Trafficking Circle Lahore presented the accused identified as Zulqarnain Asad before the court after completing investigations. The Special Court Central-II Lahore, after concluding hearings in all four cases, awarded sentence to the accused.
In one case, the court sentenced the accused to a total of 15 years of rigorous imprisonment along with a fine of Rs1.7 million. In another case, the accused was awarded 15 years of rigorous imprisonment and a fine of Rs1 million. In third case, the court handed down a sentence of 15 years of rigorous imprisonment and a fine of Rs1 million. Similarly, in fourth case, the accused was sentenced to 15 years of rigorous imprisonment along with a fine of Rs1.2 million. The FIA stated that the convictions were made possible due to strong investigation and effective prosecution by its legal team. Director FIA Lahore, Captain (R) Muhammad Ali Zia, said that the FIA will continue to pursue a zero-tolerance policy against such crimes.
