LAHORE:Punjab Minister for Local Government Zeeshan Rafique chaired a review meeting on the Lahore Development Programme (LDP) at the Town Hall on Tuesday.
Special Assistant to the Chief Minister Rashid Iqbal, Deputy Commissioner (DC) Lahore Muhammad Ali Ejaz and MD Wasa Syed Ghufran Ahmed also attended the meeting. Officials briefed participants on progress in Phase-II of the programme.
The minister said the CM was giving special attention to the uplift of underdeveloped areas.He said work on 5,174 streets had been completed under the supervision of the Metropolitan Corporation Lahore in the second phase so far.
Expressing satisfaction over 59 per cent completion, he said work on another 1,578 streets would begin during April. He added that the scope of Wasa had expanded to dozens of new settlements under the LDP.
Meanwhile, Adviser to the CM Punjab on Artificial Intelligence and Special Initiatives Ali Dar visited the Central Business District Development Authority (CBD Punjab) here Tuesday.During the visit, Dar chaired a meeting at CBD Quaid District, where key development projects were reviewed. The Punjab CBD CEO briefed on CBD Quaid District, Bab-e-Pakistan, and Nawaz Sharif IT (NSIT) City, among other initiatives.
While addressing the meeting, Dar stated that the scope of modern infrastructure and development projects across the province is rapidly expanding.
Later, Ali Dar visited CBD Quaid District, CBD Bab-e-Pakistan, and NSIT City where he inspected ongoing development work. He said that the integration of modern urban planning, smart infrastructure, and advanced technology is the need of the hour.
