SWABI: The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) workers’ protest sit-in being held for the release of party founder Imran Khan at the Swabi Interchange entered its 54th consecutive day on Saturday.

Despite torrential rain and harsh weather conditions, party workers remained steadfast at the protest camp to demonstrate unwavering solidarity with their leader.

The sit-in staged at the rest area near the Swabi Interchange is being led by PTI Swat district leader Imranullah Swat Khan.

Imranullah Swat Khan told The News that workers have remained resolute despite the inclement weather and even stayed at the camp throughout the Eid holidays.

He said the party cadre was eager for their leader’s release and was prepared for any sacrifice. “If the party leadership issues a call for a long march toward Adiala Jail in Islamabad, workers will participate with full fervour,” he claimed.

He reiterated his pledge that the sit-in would persist until Imran Khan was set free, asserting that the workers would not succumb to any pressure to end their protest.
