LANDIKOTAL: The students of Government Postgraduate College Landikotal on Wednesday threatened to stage a protest if the authorities concerned fail to announce the schedule for their examinations, which were postponed in February due to the clashes between Pakistan and Afghanistan.

Speaking at a press conference here, the students, including Daud Shinwari, Hamid Yasin and others, said their examinations were postponed in February due to clashes between Pakistan and Afghanistan.

They said the authorities had assured them that the exams would be conducted once the situation improved, but the matter remained unresolved. The students alleged that the University of Peshawar administration was using delaying tactics despite repeated assurances, which could result in the loss of an academic year for hundreds of students.

Daud Shinwari said examinations of other colleges affiliated with the University of Peshawar had already been conducted, while students of Government Postgraduate College Landikotal were still waiting for their exams.

They appealed to Chief Minister Sohail Afridi to take notice of the delay and direct the authorities concerned to issue the examination schedule by Monday. The students warned that they would lock the college and block the main highway as a mark of protest if their demand was not met.
