Islamabad:The Regional Blood Donor Center of the Pakistan Red Crescent Society (PRCS) organised a blood donation drive at the Embassy of the Republic of Türkiye in Islamabad in collaboration with Turk Kizilay (Turkish Red Crescent Society), reflecting the strong humanitarian partnership and shared commitment of both sister national societies, says a press release.
Dr. Irfan Neziroglu, ambassador of Türkiye, along with diplomats and embassy staff, actively participated in the drive and donated blood, demonstrating solidarity with patients in need and support for this lifesaving humanitarian cause.
The event was also attended by Pakistan Red Crescent Society Chairperson Farzhana Naek, TRCS Head of Delegation in Pakistan, Beyza Taner, as well as PRCS and TRCS staff, underscoring the close cooperation and longstanding humanitarian partnership between the two sister national societies.
On the occasion, Dr. Irfan Neziroglu appreciated the efforts of the PRCS in organising the blood donation drive and acknowledged its continued commitment to promoting voluntary blood donation and supporting vulnerable communities. He said that in view of the current humanitarian challenges and crucial situation being faced by communities in need, such collective humanitarian initiatives are of immense importance.
He emphasised that extending support to one another in difficult times is both a religious and moral obligation, and that blood donation remains one of the most meaningful and lifesaving ways to stand in solidarity with humanity.
PRCS Chairperson Farzhana Naek, while thanking the Ambassador, the diplomats, and the embassy staff for their generous participation, termed the initiative a highly meaningful and impactful humanitarian gesture.
