Islamabad: Federal Minister for Education and Professional Training Dr. Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui on Thursday emphasised equal access to education irrespective of gender for national development.
“Education is a fundamental right of every individual, so its access must be ensured without discrimination," he said during the convocation ceremony at the Islamabad Model College for Girls (Postgraduate) G-10/4 as the chief guest.
The minister congratulated the graduating students on their academic achievements and appreciated the efforts of the faculty and administration in maintaining high educational standards. He emphasised that equal access to education for both boys and girls was essential for national development.
Dr Siddiqui noted that educated women played a pivotal role in shaping a progressive and prosperous society, and empowering them through education led to stronger communities and a more resilient nation.
He underscored that education is the key to success and the foundation of a nation’s progress. The minister reiterated the government’s commitment to improving the quality of education and expanding opportunities for students across the country.
He urged graduates to continue striving for excellence with dedication and hard work and contribute positively to society and the country’s development.
NHMP issue travel advisory
Islamabad: In view of changing weather conditions, the National Highways & Motorway Police (NHMP) has advised the public, especially motorists travelling on motorways and national highways, to exercise caution, says a press release.
According to the travel advisory issued by NHMP, roads tend to become slippery during rainfall, increasing the risk of accidents. Therefore, unnecessary travel should be avoided. If travel is necessary, motorists are urged to follow these safety measures:
Reduce vehicle speed and maintain a safe distance from the vehicle ahead. Avoid overtaking, refrain from sudden braking, do not reverse the vehicle while driving, ensure vehicle lights and wipers are in proper working condition, do not use mobile phones while driving and keep full attention on the road.
