APPSMA pushes reforms in meeting with minister

Rawalpindi:A delegation of the All Pakistan Private Schools Management Association (APPSMA) led by Central President Kashif Adeeb Javedani Thursday called on Minister for Law Punjab Rana Muhammad Iqbal Khan, says a press release.

During the meeting, matters relating to challenges faced by private educational institutions, proposed reforms, and overall improvement of the education system were discussed in detail.Other members of the delegation included Amjad Ali Khan, Muhammad Hasnain, Ali Abbas Chaudhry, Rana Abdul Basit, and Abdul Hameed Shaheen.

The delegation presented a number of proposals aimed at addressing the issues of the private educational institutions. The proposals included abolition of commercialisation fees for low-fee institutions, assigning educational responsibilities to district registration authorities and fixing 220 teaching days annually to improve academic standards.

Other proposals were provision of special facilities and easy loan schemes for teachers, elimination of commercial electricity tariffs for low-fee schools, inclusion of private schools in the laptop schemes.

The minister assured the delegation that all legitimate demands would be addressed on a priority basis. He stated that the provincial government was taking historic steps to promote education.

The minister stressed that harmony between public and private education sectors would be strengthened to make the education system more effective. He reiterated that provision of quality education to every child remains top priority of the Punjab government.
