Suspect with Rs2m head money arrested in Maymar

A notorious suspect arrested from Gulshan-e-Maymar has been revealed to be a highly wanted criminal carrying a bounty of Rs2 million. District West police chief Tariq Ilahi Mastoi said Azhar Abro was wanted by the Sindh government for his involvement in over 200 crimes, including at least five murders.

Police said the suspect’s criminal record has been obtained, showing he was also a proclaimed offender in 35 serious cases in District Larkana. He was reportedly a key figure in over 10 major cases in Gulshan-e-Maymar.

During his interrogation, the suspect made shocking disclosures, admitting his involvement in multiple robberies, street crimes and snatching incidents. Police said he was also involved in shooting 22-year-old Rafiq dead during a robbery while he had stepped out to buy milk.

Investigators further revealed that the suspect was involved in a bungalow robbery in R Block, Gulshan-e-Maymar, where the occupants were held hostage, tied up and looted at gunpoint during the night. Following the revelations, police have intensified raids to arrest the suspect’s accomplices, and expect more key arrests in the coming days.
