FAISALABAD: Adviser to the Prime Minister on Political Affairs, Rana Sanaullah, has urged the public to immediately reduce petrolz and gas consumption by up to 50 per cent.
He was speaking to the media at his central office after offering Eid prayers. He warned that if the nation does not adopt austerity measures, the impact of rising global prices will also affect Pakistan, potentially leading to further increases in petroleum prices. Rana Sanaullah said Pakistan is currently facing several significant internal and external challenges, but the political and military leadership has successfully dealt with them. Regarding Afghanistan, he stated that Pakistan’s stance is fully aligned with the United Nations Charter. He clarified that Pakistan neither seeks war nor wishes to occupy any country, but demands that Afghanistan prevent its soil from being used for terrorism against Pakistan.
He added that Operation Ghazab-lil-Haq aims to eliminate terrorist hideouts targeting Pakistan. He further stated that Pakistan has strongly condemned aggression against Iran and has voiced firm opposition to attacks on Muslim countries. According to him, Pakistan enjoys the full confidence of Iran, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates, and remains committed to its agreements with Saudi Arabia, but initiating aggression against any country is not necessary.
Responding to a question about Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), he said courts have already handed down convictions in cases against its leadership, including the Toshakhana case. He claimed the public has rejected calls for protest and alleged that PTI is seeking a deal, but the government will not grant any concessions.
