ISLAMABAD: The hearing of the foreign funding case against PTI founder Imran Khan and others was adjourned without any action due to the unavailability of Banking Court Judge Abdul Ghafoor Kakar.
The court extended the interim bail of accused Siraj Ahmed and Faisal Qazi till April 2. The court adjourned the further hearing till April 2. In another case, Anti-Terrorism Court Judge Tahir Abbas Supra recorded the statement of another prosecution witness in the case related to the protest held at Faizabad against the disqualification of the PTI founder and adjourned the hearing till April 8. During the hearing, another witness was presented by the prosecution, whose statement was recorded by the court, however, the defence lawyers could not cross-examine the witnesses.
The court issued instructions to present more witnesses at the next hearing and adjourned the hearing till April 8. PTI MNA Amir Dogar appeared in the court, while MNA Maulana Naseem Ali Shah’s advocate Kifayatullah Wazir appeared. Naseem and several other accused remained absent, on which the court postponed the proceedings of indicting the accused due to their non-attendance. The court directed PTI leader Ali Bukhari to present arguments in the next hearing on his acquittal petition. Kifayatullah said Naseem could not appear due to curfew which is often imposed in Bannu at night. The court directed the accused to appear in the next hearing and said the accused would be indicted on April 28. The court then adjourned the hearing till April 28.
