NOWSHERA: Head of the Pak-Palestine Forum and Chairman of the Pakistan Rights Movement, former senator Mushtaq Ahmad Khan on Tuesday announced a peaceful march from Khyber to Karachi, and onward from Karachi to Gaza, scheduled for March 29.
Addressing a press conference at the Nowshera Press Club, he urged the Government of Pakistan to “stop appeasing the United States” and withdraw from the Gaza Board of Peace. He criticized what he described as continued praise for US President Donald Trump and called for an immediate policy shift on Gaza.
He alleged that restrictions on worship had been imposed at Al-Aqsa Mosque during the holy month of Ramadan, claiming that prayers had not been held there for the past 14 days. He further said that the formation of the Gaza Board of Peace had led to an escalation in violence against Palestinians, and linked broader regional tensions to actions by the United States and Israel.
The former senator said that a humanitarian crisis in Gaza had intensified, citing figures attributed to a UN report, alleging hundreds of thousands of casualties, widespread disability, and the destruction of infrastructure. He said that despite ceasefire, over 1,700 violations had occurred.
He stated that access to humanitarian aid remained restricted, with limited delivery of food and supplies despite the presence of aid convoys.According to him, shortages of food and water had made survival increasingly difficult for residents in Gaza.
Commenting on regional dynamics, Mushtaq Ahmad expressed solidarity with Iran and paid tribute to Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, while also expressing support for Mojtaba Khamenei. He accused Israel and the United States of targeting civilians and escalating conflict in the region.
He said that the Pak-Palestine Forum planned to participate in a global flotilla initiative in April, sailing from Karachi towards Gaza.He appealed to citizens, students, lawyers, teachers, laborers, traders, and civil society members to participate in the March 29 march.
