LAHORE:Punjab Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI-F) General Secretary Naseer Ahmed Ahrar met with Punjab Governor Sardar Saleem Haider at Governor’s House here on Sunday.
They discussed the overall political situation in Punjab. It was also agreed to increase political ties between JUI and PPP in Punjab and promote bilateral cooperation. Pakistan Peace Council Chairman Syed Usama Ajmal Qasmi was also present in the meeting.
Speaking on the occasion, governor said development and stability in the country are of utmost importance. He said that the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) has always strengthened institutions and raised its voice for the rights of the oppressed class.
The governor said that difference of opinion is the beauty of democracy, but this should not lead to personal interests and chaos and the national interest should be paramount. Sardar Saleem said that as an ally, he believed in strengthening the government for political and economic stability in the country.
The governor said that economic stability will come only with political stability in the country. He said that all political parties should work together to play a positive role in the development and progress of the country. The governor said that local government elections are essential for providing basic facilities to the people.
