LAHORE: The passing out ceremony of the 48th badge was held at Rescue Emergency Services Academy. Punjab Health Minister Khawaja Salman Rafique and Balochistan Senior Health Minister Bakht Muhammad Kakar were the special guests at the ceremony.
Secretary Health Balochistan Mujeeb Khan Panizai and Director General MERC Balochistan Zulfiqar Ali Jatoi were also present. A total of 87 cadets completed their training at the Rescue Emergency Services Academy, including 80 males and seven females. Secretary Emergency Services Dr Rizwan Naseer administered the oath of service to humanity to the passing rescuers.
Provincial Minister Khawaja Salman Rafique, in his address to the passing out rescuers, said that this academy is the asset to Pakistan where sons and daughters from Kashmir, Sindh, Balochistan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Punjab are graduating. He said that 1122 Rescue has become a tall tree, rescuers are performing their duties on the front line by risking their lives in all kinds of natural disasters, including floods, earthquakes and fires.
Keeping in view the challenges, the Punjab CM has approved several measures to further improve the capabilities of Rescue 1122, including the purchase of modern communication systems, surveillance drones, improvement of building infrastructure, boat carriers and new boats.
Provincial Health Minister Khawaja Salman Rafique paid tribute to Dr Rizwan Naseer and his team for providing a sense of security to the public day and night. Khawaja Salman congratulated the pass-outs. Balochistan Minister Bakht Muhammad Kakar said that the rescuers trained here are serving humanity all over the country.
