LAHORE:The third board meeting of the Water and Sanitation Agency (WASA) Lahore was held at Wasa Head Office, in which important policy and development decisions were approved.
The board meeting approved the budget for four important underground water tank projects of Wasa Lahore. Among these projects, work is underway rapidly on underground water tanks in Nisbat Road, Laxmi Chowk, UET, Lake Road and Barkat Market. The completion of this project will make it possible to save rainwater and eliminate urban flooding.
The meeting also approved regulations related to water supply and sewage under the Water and Sanitation Act, which will make the organisation’s performance and service delivery more effective.
Wasa MD said that Wasa Lahore is striving to provide the best services to the citizens through modern facilities, transparent financial system and sustainable planning in line with the vision of Punjab CM Maryam Nawaz.At the end of the meeting, it was reiterated that Wasa Lahore will further improve its services for the provision of clean water to the citizens and an effective drainage system.
