NAB gets physical remand of accused in Kohistan scandal case

PESHAWAR: An accountability court here on Friday handed over an operations officer of a private bank to the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) on a six-day physical remand in connection with the Kohistan financial scandal.

The case was heard by Accountability Court Judge Muhammad Zafar. Special prosecutor NAB and the investigation officer appeared before the court.According to the NAB investigation officer, the accused served as an operations officer at a bank in Dassu. During the hearing, the officer told the court that the suspect allegedly opened two bank accounts using fake documents.

Investigators informed the court that transactions worth Rs149.470 million were made through one account, while Rs236.585 million were transacted through the second account.The investigation officer further stated that the suspect had made additional revelations during interrogation and that further investigation was required. Subsequently, the court granted NAB a six-day physical remand of the accused for further probe.
