CHITRAL Residents of Chitral have urged the government to introduce special and easier arrangements for the distribution of payments under the Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP), saying that deserving women are facing serious hardships while trying to receive their financial assistance.
Hundreds of women from different areas of Chitral can be seen standing in long queues outside easypaisa outlets to withdraw their BISP payments. During the holy month of Ramazan, many women are forced to wait for hours in hot weather while observing their fast.
The residents said that due to poor management and lack of facilities, several women spend the entire day waiting in line but are still forced to return home empty-handed without receiving their payments.
