BARA: The displaced people from Tirah valley on Thursday stage a protest to demand basicamenities. A protest demonstration was held outside the Bara Tehsil Office under the banner of the Tehreek Mutasireen Tirah Maidan.
Local residents of Bara, elders, political leaders and chairmen of the village councils also participated in the rally.Speaking on the occasion, the participants stated that the people of Tirah were not displaced by choice but were forced to migrate due to the deteriorating law and order situation in the area.
They urged the government to safeguard the lives and property of the affected people, including their homes and markets, and called for the immediate fulfillment of all commitments previously made to them. The protesters demanded that the registration of the affected families should be started in a dignified manner and relief packages be provided on time.
