PESHAWAR: A police Sub-Inspector, Bahar Ali, who was critically wounded while foiling a bank robbery in the provincial capital last Friday, succumbed to his injuries at a hospital.
Three armed robbers entered a bank in Pir Bala, within the limits of the Michni Gate Police Station. However, police arrived within no time and exchanged fire with the armed criminals.A police official said the encounter continued for some time, during which Additional SHO Bahar Ali fought bravely despite suffering five bullet wounds. Other cops also continued firing even after being hit by bullets.The robbers managed to escape without taking any cash. The wounded policemen were shifted to a hospital.
