LAHORE : In accordance with the health vision of CM Maryam Nawaz, Lahore General Hospital (LGH) provided medical facilities to 356,168 patients in the Emergency and Outdoor departments during the first two months of 2026.
This performance report was presented in a meeting chaired by Principal of Amiruddin Medical College Prof Dr Farooq Afzal and attended by MS Prof Dr Faryad Hussain, administrative doctors and Nursing Superintendent Saima Fateh.
It was highlighted that, following provincial government policy, all patients were treated without any registration fees, while 165,868 patients in the Emergency department received medicines, surgical equipment, CT scans and all diagnostic tests. During this period, the hospital conducted 16,787 major and minor operations, 31,76,42 laboratory tests, 52,445 X-rays, 21,515 ultrasounds, 14,783 ECGs, 12,057 CT scans, 3,119 MRIs, and 3,058 dialysis sessions.
Prof Dr Farooq Afzal highlighted that there will be no compromise on hospital discipline, cleanliness or security, directing that monitoring processes be intensified to ensure no healthcare professional leaves their duty without a proper handover to next shift. He stressed the need for effective coordination to maintain a patient-friendly environment and ensure the uninterrupted provision of treatment to the public.
MS Prof Dr Faryad Hussain briefed the meeting on the newly-implemented accountability system, where immediate action is taken against absent employees while high-achievers are encouraged with appreciation certificates.
