Woman, daughter killed in car accident

LAHORE : A woman and her daughter were killed after being hit by a speeding car on Karol Ghatti Ring Road in the Gujjarpura area. Police said the victims were crossing the road when the car ran over them. Both died on the spot, while the driver fled from the scene with the vehicle. The bodies of the deceased, identified as Shehnaz and her daughter, were shifted to the morgue. Police have started a search for the unidentified driver.

Robbery incidents

Several robbery incidents were reported in different areas of the city where citizens were deprived of cash and valuables. According to details, in Naulakha, robbers took Rs355,000 and a mobile phone from Sajid. In Kot Lakhpat, Nadeem was deprived of Rs420,000 and a mobile phone, while in Nawab Town, Muzammil lost Rs340,000 and a mobile phone. In Gulshan-e-Iqbal, Azim was robbed of Rs290,000 and a mobile phone, while in Nawan Kot, Abdul Razzaq lost Rs245,000 and a mobile phone.

Open court held

The series of open courts continued on the directions of DIG Investigation Syed Zeeshan Raza. In this regard, SP Investigation Sadr Abdullah Imran Cheema held an open court at his office. DSPs Investigation, investigation officers and in-charges of various police stations attended the session, while a large number of citizens also participated. Citizens presented complaints regarding investigation of cases and other matters. The SP listened to the complaints and issued instructions to relevant officers on several applications on the spot.

Bike theft gang busted

Nawan Kot Police arrested three members of a motorcycle theft gang during an operation. According to the police spokesperson, suspects identified as Zahid, Bilal and Imran were arrested near Bakra Mandi Graveyard on a tip-off. Police recovered a bunch of master keys, a cutter, a stolen Honda 125 motorcycle, a mobile phone and a pistol with bullets from their possession.

Police said the suspects used cutters and master keys to steal motorcycles. Cases have been registered against them.
