Minority woman traders’ efforts lauded

LAHORE:The Youth Development Foundation (YDF) organised the Minority Women Business Summit 2026 here to commemorate International Women’s Day, highlighting the achievements of minority women entrepreneurs and promoting inclusive economic opportunities for marginalised communities.

The summit celebrated the progress of participants of the POWER – Minority Women Business Incubation Programme, an initiative aimed at equipping minority women with practical business skills, financial literacy and digital tools to start and grow sustainable enterprises. Through this initiative, women from underserved communities have been supported to launch home-based businesses and strengthen their economic independence.

The event brought together diplomats, parliamentarians, religious leaders, civil society representatives, entrepreneurs and development partners. More than 200 women attended the graduation ceremony, celebrating the achievements of minority women entrepreneurs and showcasing their business journeys and products.

The participants included Dr Zoltán Varga, Ambassador of Hungary to Pakistan, Dr Dora Gunsberger, Bishop Nadeem Kamran, Bishop Ayub Khokhar, Bishop Naeem Prakash, Rahila Khadim, MPA, Falbous Christopher, MPA, Emmanuel Athar, MPA, Shakeela Arthur, MPA, Wasim Sandhu, MPA, and Naukhez Khokhar.
