Sindh Senior Minister for Information and Transport Sharjeel Inam Memon has said the fruits of the Sindh government’s projects have begun reaching the people of the province.
In a statement issued on Thursday, he said vigorous steps had been taken to provide better facilities, improve infrastructure and develop various sectors. Providing modern and dignified travel facilities to citizens was among the priorities of the Sindh government, he added.
The transport minister explained that the Yellow Line Bus Rapid Transit project in Karachi was moving towards rapid completion. Plans were also being made for the rehabilitation of the Karachi Circular Railway, while large-scale work was under way to improve Karachi’s roads and infrastructure, he said.
He stated that road construction in different areas of Karachi had either been completed or was ongoing. Projects for the construction and rehabilitation of various highways, as well as the construction of flyovers and underpasses and the improvement of the drainage system, were also under way, he said.
Memon said economic activities were being boosted through the development of industrial zones, promotion of business activities and improvements in infrastructure. The government’s aim was not merely announcing projects but also ensuring their timely completion so that people could receive real relief, he said.
