GHALLANAI: Unknown gunmen opened fire on the vehicle of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Mohmand district president and chairman Lower Mohmand, Malik Naveed Ahmad Mohmand, in Michini area of Tehsil Yakkaghund, police officials said.
They said that the attack took place around 9pm when unidentified gunmen targeted the vehicle in the darkness of night. Bullets pierced through the vehicle’s windows and doors.
Malik Naveed was not present in the vehicle at the time of the incident. However, his personal secretary and PTI Mohmand Youth Wing president Mudassir Khan, who was inside the vehicle, miraculously remained unharmed. A case has been registered against unknown persons at Yakkaghund Police Station and an investigation has been launched.
Family sources said that Malik Naveed had been receiving continuous
threats from militants and remained under persistent security risk.
