PESHAWAR: Adviser to Chief Minister on Finance Muzzammil Aslam on Saturday said that Punjab had a total of 411 ventilators, whereas a smaller province like Khyber Pakhtunkhwa had approximately 700 ventilators.
A press release said that he was reacting to the report of the Director General Health Services Punjab.
He expressed these views in a tweet posted on his X (formerly Twitter) account.
Muzzammil Aslam stated that out of the total ventilators in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 400 were in 10 Medical Teaching Institute (MTIs) hospitals, while 295 were in non-MTIs hospitals.
He said it was regrettable that Punjab, a province with an annual budget of Rs5 trillion, had only 411 ventilators, while Khyber Pakhtunkhwa whose population was three times smaller than Punjab had 700 ventilators.
He said that the Punjab ventilators report submitted to the Lahore High Court by the Punjab government had exposed the performance claims of the Punjab Health Department.
