IS-KP commander killed in clash with TTP

KALAYA: A commander and two fighters of the Islamic State Khorasan Province (IS-KP) were killed in a clash with the banned Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) in the Ghaljo Narik area in upper Orakzai on Sunday, police officials said.

They said the clash began when TTP fighters opened fire on IS-KP hideouts in the mountainous terrain of Ghaljo. As a result, they added, IS-KP’s central commander, Haji Rahman aliasHaji Dada and two of his associates were killed.

During the encounter, a local resident, identified as Rasheed, sustained injuries and was immediately transferred to the Tehsil Headquarters Hospital in Ghaljo for medical treatment.

Security forces remain on high alert as intermittent gunfire continues in the region.
