HANGU: Abrar Hussain, a young bodybuilder from Hangu who recently clinched a gold medal at the National Games, has vowed to deliver a strong performance at the Asian Games, saying he is fully focused on preparations for the upcoming challenge.
“Now I have qualified for Asian-level competitions and am fully focused on preparations. My next goal is to succeed at the Asian level and then represent Pakistan at the Olympic Games, so that I can raise the national flag on the world stage,” he told The News.
Abrar Hussain clinched the gold medal in the bodybuilding competitions of the National Games held last week in Lahore. His impressive performance earned him the prestigious Mr Pakistan title and highlighted his growing stature in the sport.
Abrar said he has consistently excelled in bodybuilding competitions from district to provincial levels and has so far won a total of 12 gold medals, reflecting his dedication and hard work over the years.

However, Abrar expressed disappointment that despite his achievements, he has not yet received support or even contact from the provincial or federal governments, the district administration, or the sports department. He said that talented athletes like him need proper facilities, sponsorship, and encouragement to perform better at international platforms.
Meanwhile, local residents, sports lovers, and social circles have praised Abrar Hussain’s achievement and urged the government to extend patronage to such talented youth so they can continue to bring honour to Pakistan at international events.
