PESHAWAR: Former mayor of Peshawar and senior leader of the Pakistan People’s Party Arbab Muhammad Tariq has said that it is a moment of pride for Pakistan and its people that the country’s leadership played a mediatory role in reducing tensions between Iran and the United States.

Addressing a press conference at the Peshawar Press Club on Thursday, he said that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir and Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar worked tirelessly to promote peace through diplomatic dialogue. He stated that Pakistan has always opposed terrorism and has consistently supported peaceful solutions to conflicts.

Arbab Muhammad Tariq added that although peace efforts have made progress, conflicts in different parts of the world still continue to cause suffering. He emphasized that wars ultimately lead to negotiations and dialogue, noting that lasting peace can only be achieved through patience and mutual understanding.
