The Mauripur police on Monday arrested two car-borne suspects allegedly involved in stealing electronic panel parts from vehicles parked outside homes in various upscale areas of the city.
The police said the suspects targeted expensive vehicles parked outside houses and removed their electronic components. The accused were reportedly active in areas including Gulshan-e-Iqbal, Defence, Bahadurabad and Nazimabad.
During the operation, the police recovered weapons and the car allegedly used in the crimes. More than 200 stolen electronic parts were also recovered. Investigators revealed that the suspects used to sell the stolen electronic components in Hub Chowki.
The police identified the arrested men as Zohaib and Hassan. According to officials, Zohaib had more than nine cases registered against him, including robbery, theft and illegal weapons charges. The criminal record of the second suspect, identified as an Afghan national, was being verified. The police said videos showing the suspects involved in theft incidents had also surfaced on social media. Further investigation is under way.
