Sharjeel Inam Memon, Sindh’s senior minister for information, has expressed serious concern over the increase in petroleum prices, stating that the rise in the petrol price by Rs5 per litre and that of diesel by Rs7.32 per litre just before Ramazan will further intensify the inflationary pressure on the masses.

In a statement issued on the social media platform X on Tuesday, he said this decision would particularly affect the poor and middle class, placing additional strain on their household budgets. The senior minister urged the federal government to reconsider the decision to increase petroleum prices and to provide genuine and meaningful economic relief to the public.
