MINGORA: The newly admitted batch of medical students was formally welcomed at a white coat ceremony held at Saidu Medical College, signifying their official induction into the medical profession.
Faculty members, medical students, distinguished guests and journalists in large numbers attended the event.
Addressing the ceremony, Chief Executive and Principal of Saidu Medical College, Dr Israr, said that the white coat ceremony symbolises the beginning of a professional journey for newly admitted medical students. He urged students to uphold honesty, integrity and selfless service, and to always place patient care as their top priority throughout their careers.
Vice-chancellor of the University of Malakand, Prof Dr Rashid, also spoke on the occasion and highlighted the importance of professional responsibility, medical ethics and service to humanity. Other speakers shed light on the core values, ethics and responsibilities associated with the medical profession.
During the ceremony, the new medical students took an oath, pledging to fulfill their professional duties with honesty and dedication. Participants described the white coat ceremony as a dignified and memorable beginning of the students’ journey into the field of medicine.
