KARACHI: Gold prices remained unchanged in the local market on Thursday, while silver registered a modest increase.

According to the All Pakistan Sarafa Gems and Jewellers Association (APSGJA), the price of 24-carat gold held steady at Rs528,562 per tola.

Similarly, the price of 10-gram gold remained unchanged at Rs453,156.

In the international market, gold prices closed flat at $5,058 per ounce.

Bullion dealers said gold prices in Pakistan are typically adjusted with a premium of around $20 per ounce over international rates, reflecting exchange rate movements, import costs and domestic market conditions.

However, silver prices edged higher by Rs90 to Rs8,825 per tola, while the price of 10-gram silver also increased by Rs78 to Rs7,566.
