ISLAMABAD: A local court on Wednesday issued non-bailable arrest warrants for the prosecution witnesses for their continued non-appearance despite summons in the case of torture of a minor domestic worker.
Judicial Magistrate Mubashir Hassan Chishti conducted the hearing and owing to continued absence of witnesses the court issued non-bailable arrest warrants for DHQ Hospital Sargodha’s Woman Medical Officer Maryam Fatima, sub-inspectors Muhammad Nawaz, Qasim Zia, Ijaz Ahmed and Muhammad Hanif, Rescue 1122 Sargodha’s Medical Emergency Technician Munawar Abbas, and police employees Kanwal, Shafiq Hussain, Sajjad Hussain and Shamrez Iqbal, and also ordered the relevant government institutions to stop their salaries.
The judge ordered their production in court to testify in domestic worker Rizwana torture case, and adjourned the hearing till February 21.
