Gilani receives warm welcome in Cambodia

PHNOM PENH, Cambodia: The Cambodian government has accorded a gracious welcome to Chairman Senate Yousaf Raza Gilani upon the commencement of his official visit to the country.

According to the Senate Secretariat, as a gesture of respect and goodwill, prominent public spaces in Phnom Penh were adorned with the national flag of Pakistan, alongside welcome banners bearing the name and designation of Gilani.

“These arrangements were made by the Cambodian authorities in coordination with the official receiving committee, reflecting the importance attached to the visit and the longstanding friendly relations between the two countries,” it said.

“The ceremonial display and protocol arrangements showcase the Cambodian government’s regard for Pakistan’s parliamentary leadership and its commitment to further strengthening bilateral and parliamentary engagement,” it added.

Gilani is accompanied by a parliamentary and advisory delegation comprising Senator Zarqa Suharwardy, Senator Abid Sher Ali, Senator Zamir Hussain Ghumro, and Ms Misbah Khar, Adviser to the chairman Senate.

“The visit reflects the shared commitment of Pakistan and Cambodia to enhancing parliamentary cooperation and advancing mutually beneficial relations,” it said.
