ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court (SC) on Thursday confirmed the pre-arrest bail of former MPA Mir Shehryar Khan Shar and his son Jahangir Khan Shar, who were nominated in a murder and attempted murder case.
A three-member bench headed by Justice Shahid Waheed heard the case. During the hearing, Farooq H Naek, counsel for the accused, argued that his clients had been targeted for political revenge and that there was a longstanding political rivalry between the applicants and the complainant.
During the proceedings, Justice Shahid Waheed remarked that it was surprising that the person allegedly targeted in the attack, Jam Mehtab, did not even suffer a scratch. Meanwhile, Justice Musarrat Hilali observed that in order to understand the nature and facts of the case, it was necessary to carefully examine all details.
It is worth mentioning that the case was registered in Ubauro Tehsil of Ghotki District. The accused are alleged to have attacked Jam Mehtab Ahmed Dahar, a member of the Sindh Assembly, resulting in the death of a man named Zafar and injuries to two others. After completion of the arguments, the court approved the bail of both the accused.
