MANSEHRA: Chief Justice Yahya Afridi has assured the district bar association members that construction work on the judicial complex would soon be started to address problems faced by judges, lawyers and litigants here.

“Our association’s delegation, led by me, called on the CJP to take up the prolonged delay in the building of the judicial complex already acquired, and he assured us that execution of this project would soon be started,” Shahjehan Khan Swati, the president of the District Bar Association, told reporters here on Friday.

He said that although various issues related to the bar and bench were discussed in detail, they mainly focused on the delay in the execution of the judicial complex in Mansehra, as judges, lawyers, and litigants were bearing the brunt of congestion and rush at the court premises.

“Our court buildings and other infrastructure are almost the same as those built decades ago, and roads leading to half of the city even pass through the court premises, causing various challenges for us,” Swati said.He said that the Peshawar High Court Chief Justice S.M. Attique Shah had also assured the lawyers’ fraternity of laying the foundation of the judicial complex.
