LAKKI MARWAT: Three alleged bandits were killed in an encounter near Dallokhel Phattak here on Thursday night.Acting on a tip off about the presence of a gang of bandits in the area, a police party reached the place and engaged the suspects, a police official said.
He said that during an exchange of fire, three alleged bandits identified as Bahadar, Adnan and Kalimullah were killed and arms and ammunition were recovered from them. “The killed bandits were wanted by police in robbery cases including a bus robbery that took place on Lakki-Tajazai road last week,” he added. Lakki Marwat DPO Nazir Khan lauded the cops who took part in the operation against bandits and said that police would exercise all energies to provide protection of lives and properties to citizens.
Meanwhile, relatives of slain bandits along with local people held a protest demonstration in the Tajazai area against the police shootout. They alleged that innocent citizens had been killed in a fake encounter, labeling them as bandits. They demanded the government and higher authorities of the police department to provide the families with justice
