GHALLANAI: At least six persons were killed and one injured when a speeding car plunged into a ravine on Karapa Road in Ambar tehsil of Mohmand tribal district on Friday.
Sources said the vehicle was travelling from Ambar to Ekkaghund to attend a public gathering at Darang when the driver lost control due to overspeeding at a dangerous turn near Karapa Dhand and the vehicle fell into the gorge.
As a result, two passengers died on the spot, while five others sustained serious injuries. The driver received minor injuries. However, four of the injured later succumbed to their wounds while being shifted to hospital or during treatment, bringing the death toll to six. One injured passenger remains under treatment.
The deceased were identified as Wazir, Zardul, Zahir Gul, Noor-ul-Bashar, Ghulam Syed and Mir Alam. The injured was identified as Gul Badshah.The tragic incident plunged the entire area into mourning, as all six deceased belonged to the same village. Emotional scenes were witnessed during their funeral prayers, with residents expressing deep grief and shock.
