Six PHC judges take oath

PESHAWAR: Six judges, who were recently confirmed as permanent judges of the Peshawar High Court (PHC), took oath of office at a ceremony.The notification of their permanent appointments was read out on the occasion.

PHC Chief Justice SM Attique Shah administered the oath to Justice Tariq Afridi, Justice Abdul Fayaz, Justice Salahuddin, Justice Sadiq Ali, Justice Syed Mudassar Ameer and Justice Qazi Jawad Ehsanullah.

Senior puisne judge Justice Ijaz Anwar, Justice Syed Arshad Ali, Justice Sahibzada Asadullah and other PHC judges attended the ceremony.The PHC registrar, advocate general, additional attorney general, high court staff and a number of lawyers were present as well.

Later, the PHC Bar hosted a reception in honour of the judges.The newly sworn-in judges met members of the legal fraternity. The PHC president, Aminur Rehman, along with other office-bearers, welcomed the judges upon their arrival at the barroom.
