MINGORA: A case was registered against Member National Assembly from Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), Amjad Ali Khan, on Monday after complying with a court order.
The application was filed in court under Section 22-A by Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) leader Sajid Ali Khawazakhel. In response, the court directed the police to register a case.Following the court’s orders, the police at Swat’s Kokarai Police Station registered a first information report (FIR) against PTI MNA Amjad Ali under various sections of the law.
According to the police, the accused was alleged to have delivered provocative speeches at public gatherings, made statements inciting hatred against state institutions, and endangered public peace. The FIR stated that Amjad Ali, during a public rally held in a National Assembly constituency, made statements through video clips that fell under punishable offenses according to the law. The rally took place in MPA Akhtar Khan’s chamber and was attended by a number of people.
According to the police report, the accused attempted to incite hatred against Pakistan and its state institutions and used words likely to provoke the public, creating a risk to law and order in the area.
The police registered the case under sections 120, 121, 124-A, 153-A, 505, and 506(1) of the Pakistan Penal Code, along with other relevant laws, and have also included video clips as evidence for the investigation.Authorities stated that legal action was underway and that no one will be allowed to spread hatred against the state or mislead the public.
