QUETTA/KARACHI/SWABI: Three different roadside accidents in as many cities claimed lives of at least eleven people in Tuesday's wee hours.
In Balochistan's Chagai district, a head-on collision between two double-cabins near Yakmach claimed seven lives and injured three others.
The vehicles, travelling at high speed on the Pakistan-Iran RCD Highway, were completely destroyed in the crash, according to police sources.
Police said the deceased included four women and two children. Emergency teams transported the injured and the deceased first to Yakmach.
Later, the injured passengers were transferred to Prince Fahad Hospital in Dalbandin for medical treatment.
In Swabi, a five-vehicle pile-up occurred near the Anbar Interchange on the M1 Motorway, leaving two dead and 10 injured.
The vehicles, travelling from Peshawar to Islamabad, were quickly cleared by rescue teams, with victims taken to Bacha Khan Medical Complex.
A traffic accident occurred on Shahrea Faisal near Karsaz, killing two motorcyclists.
Rescue teams rushed to the scene and confirmed the deaths. Authorities are investigating the circumstances of the collision.
Earlier this month, a passenger coach en route from Karachi overturned near Hud Goth in Balochistan's Gwadar, killing 10 and injuring 45.
Military and naval rescue teams had assisted in evacuating survivors to hospitals.
