Unauthorised installation of cable or telecom lines on electricity poles is a serious threat to public safety, said K-Electric spokesperson Imran Rana on social media platform X on Friday.

He said that under Nepra regulations (7.18.66), no organisation is permitted to use electricity infrastructure, and according to the Sindh High Court’s decision in CPD-6386, PTAPA and cable operators are not allowed to use K-Electric’s poles. K-Electric’s electricity poles fall under Nepra’s jurisdiction, and no third party is allowed to carry out illegal installations on them, said the spokesperson.
