Two men awarded three-year imprisonment for house robbery

A sessions court has sentenced two men to three-year imprisonment in a house robbery case. Imran and Muhammad Sharif were found guilty of committing robbery at a bungalow within the jurisdiction of the Gizri police station in May last year.

Additional Sessions Judge (South) Muhammad Sulleman Buriro awarded both the convicts three years of rigorous imprisonment for the offence punishable under Section 392 (punishment for robbery) of the Pakistan Penal Code (PPC).

The court ordered them to pay a fine of Rs20,000 each or undergo additional three months’ imprisonment. Separately, accused Imran was awarded two years’ imprisonment over possession of an illegal weapon.

According to the prosecution, on May 24, 2025, two persons duly armed with weapons entered into the house of complainant Muhammad Asif and at gunpoint robbed two mobile phones, two gold earrings, one gold top, two silver rings, two gold rings and an amount of Rs50,000 from the family.

Both the men were later arrested outside the bungalow and the looted valuables were recovered from their possession. A 30-bore pistol, along with a magazine and two live rounds, were also found on accused Imran.
