45 cops in KP awarded medals for bravery

PESHAWAR: As many as 45 police officers were conferred Quaid-e-Azam Police Medals and President’s Police Medals on Wednesday for displaying exceptional bravery during operations against terrorists and criminals in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Inspector General of Police Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Zulfiqar Hameed during a ceremony held at Malik Saad Shaheed Police Lines Peshawar awarded medals to the brave policemen.The IGP awarded Quaid-e-Azam Police Medals and Presidential Police Medals to the heirs of 13 police martyrs while 32 Ghazi policemen also received medals.

The recommendations of the names of the officers and men who were martyred and injured while performing their duties in the war against terrorism at different times were sent to the federal government for these medals.

Among the martyred cops sub inspector Hukum Khan, SI Abdul Hameed Khan, SI Inayatullah, ASI Abdul Haq, Constables Kaleemullah, Shah Mehmood, Wizar Ali, Najeebullah and Muhammad Junaid were awarded Quaid-e-Azam Police Medals.

Besides, fallen heroes including m Inspector Ramzan, SI Tahir Nawaz, Niaz Muhammad and Muhammad Bilal were awarded President Police Medals. Among the Ghazis, RPO Bannu Sajjad Khan, DIG Javed Iqbal, SI Damsaz Khan, SI Faheem Mumtaz, Head Constable Ghulam Abbas, Constables Waheedullah, Hazra Hayat, Muslim Jan Muslim and Waheedullah were awarded Quaid-e-Azam Police Medals.
