IGP orders relief for police employees, families

LAHORE:Inspector General of Police (IGP), Punjab, Dr Usman Anwar, Tuesday met police employees and their families at the Central Police Office Lahore and listened to their grievances.

On requests regarding pending dues, The IGP directed the DIG Welfare & Finance to provide relief to the widow of late Constable Amanat Ali and arrange fee payment for the son of Ghazi Constable Tariq Mehmood. TSI Muhammad Farooq was granted exemption from a course. Orders were also issued on matters of discipline, administration, promotion, and welfare.

Over Rs2m released for cops’ treatment

The IGP released over Rs2.35 million for treatment of police employees and their families.Constable Javed Iqbal received Rs500,000 for a heart condition, Sub-Inspector Riyasat Ali Rs325,000 for surgery, and Head Constable Muhammad Asif Rs250,000 for his wife’s treatment. Constable Bilal Hassan was granted Rs235,000, and Head Constable Imran Asghar Rs150,000 for a brain tumor.

Additional funds of Rs100,000 each were provided to ASIs Ali Hamza, Mumtaz Hussain, Security Constable Ghulam Mustafa, Head Constables Kamran Aslam, Amir Muhammad Khan, and Driver Constable Muhammad Zubair. Constables Shair Bahadur and Saqib Khan received a total of Rs150,000, while Head Constables Awais Ahmad, Tariq Javed, and Supervisor Rab Nawaz were granted Rs140,000 collectively.

Two sisters handed over to parents

Crime Control Department’s (CCD) Kidnapping for Ransom Cell traced and recovered two sisters who had gone missing three days earlier from the Badami Bagh area. According to a police spokesperson, 16-yearold ‘M’ and her 15-yearold sister ‘S’ had left their home for tuition but did not return. Following their disappearance, Badami Bagh police registered a case over their abduction.

The spokesperson said the CCD traced the girls in the Shahdara area and safely handed them over to their parents. He added that the search operation was carried out using the Punjab Police’s digital tools, including the ‘Pyara App’, the Virtual Child Protection Centre, and social media platforms.
