LAHORE:Education Minister Rana Sikandar Hayat in a letter to the federal government has urged immediate steps to ensure Pakistani students’ safety and, if needed, their evacuation in the wake of the situation in Iran.

In his letter, the minister said many of the students belong to Punjab and their families were deeply worried. He called for close coordination with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Pakistani mission in Iran to compile verified data of all students, establish an emergency communication system, and prepare contingency plans for relocation or evacuation.
