50 fare-dodgers fined

LAHORE:On the directives of Divisional Superintendent Railways Lahore Inamullah, Divisional Commercial Officer Railways Abdullah Arshad conducted a surprise inspection of the Allama Iqbal Express.

During the operation, 50 passengers were found travelling without tickets and were fined. The checking drive was carried out on the Sialkot–Karachi Allama Iqbal Express between Lahore and Raiwind. Commercial Inspector Muhammad Akbar Gujar and the Special Ticket Checking Group accompanied the DCO. The DCO also reviewed onboard facilities and expressed displeasure over poor cleanliness and inadequate washroom arrangements. Concerned staff were reprimanded and warned that negligence would not be tolerated. He directed improvement of passenger facilities.
