LAHORE:The Divisional Superintendent Office, Pakistan Railways Lahore, has issued safety advisory and the rule of the month to ensure safe train operations during fog.
According to instructions issued by DS Railways Lahore, Inamullah, train drivers, guards and all staff associated with train operations have been strictly directed to fully comply with rules and regulations and to remain extra vigilant during dense fog conditions. Drivers have been instructed to keep engine headlights switched on while operating trains and to ensure the use of horns when approaching populated areas and level crossing gates. Full compliance with all route restrictions during travel has also been emphasised. Trains must be complete and fit in all respects before operation.
Station Masters have also been instructed to ensure strict adherence to all basic principles during the entry and departure of trains within station limits during train operations. Compliance with rules and the exercise of caution have been described as essential for safe train operations.
