LAHORE: Punjab Health Minister and Chairman Cabinet Committee on Law and Order Khawaja Salman Rafique has said that the protection of life and property of people is the primary responsibility and top priority of the state.
He was chairing a meeting at the Home Department on Saturday to review the law and order situation in the province.
The meeting directed the relevant authorities to ensure effective combing operations and the use of Hotel Eye software across Punjab to further strengthen law and order.
The minister stated that the overall law and order situation in the province is satisfactory. Punjab Health Minister and Chairman Cabinet Committee on Law and Order Khawaja Salman Rafique said that, on the instructions of CM Punjab Maryam Nawaz, law enforcement agencies are working round-the-clock to maintain peace and security.
Addressing the meeting, Home Secretary Dr Ahmed JavedQazi said that the capacity of law enforcement agencies is being enhanced to ensure a peaceful environment.
He added that Punjab is being made safer through the use of modern technology, technical training, and improved intelligence sharing.
The meeting was attended by Home Secretary Dr Ahmed JavedQazi, Auqaf Secretary Dr Ehsan Bhutta, former Auqaf Secretary Syed Tahir Raza Bukhari, Special Secretary Home FazlurRehman, Additional IG Special Branch, DIG Counter Terrorism Department (CTD), Additional Secretary Abdul Rauf, and Chairman Punjab Charities Commission Colonel Shahzad.
