SUKKUR: Three people, including a groom, were killed and two women were injured when their wedding party bus was fired upon by unidentified gunmen on National Highway in Shikarpur on Sunday.
According to the police, the deceased included the groom Altaf Mahar’s brother and the bus driver. The dead and the injured women were taken to the Civil Hospital.
The bus was going from Aqil Magar village to Thulh. After the firing, the suspects fled from the scene, while police set up a checkpoint to arrest them.
Police said the incident appeared to be a dispute between the people of Mahar and Jatoi tribes.
